Malanga Chips al Horno (Baked Taro Chips)

Estos chips de malanga son super fáciles de hacer y lo puedes utilizar como aperitivo o como un acompañante en un plato principal. Lo mejor de todo es que estos chips son al horno por lo que son una opción mucho más saludable.

 

These malanga (taro) chips are super easy to make. They can be used as an appetizer or as a side in a dish. The best part is that these chips are baked which make them a healthier option.

Ingredientes:

  • 1 Malanga

  • Sal a gusto

  • Ajo en Polvo

  • Spray para cocinar


Preparación:

  1. Precaliente el horno a 350°F grados.

  2. Corte las malangas en pedazos finos.

  3. Sumerja en agua para que mantengan su color (si la deja fuera del agua se comienzan a poner negras).

  4. Cubra una bandeja con papel aluminio y eche un poco de “cooking spray”.

  5. Seque las malangas y ponga en la bandeja.

  6. Las puede sazonar con sal, ajo o su combinación preferida. En mi caso, hice una mezcla de Kosher Salt con ajo en polvo.

  7. Rocíe un poco de cooking spay por encima.

  8. Hornear por 30 minutos.

  9. Para que queden bien tostadas y “crunchy” poner en Broil de 2 a 3 minutos.

  • 1 Malanga (Taro)

  • Garlic Powder

  • Cooking Spray


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven at 350°F.

  2. Cut the taro into fine pieces.

  3. In a bowl with water, put the taro pieces as you cut the rest. (If kept outside, they will start turning black).

  4. Cover a baking pan with aluminum foil and add non-stick cooking spray.

  5. Dry the taro pieces and arrange in the baking pan.

  6. Season with salt and garlic powder. You can use your favorite seasoning as well.

  7. Add a little bit of cooking spray to the pieces.

  8. Bake for 30 minutes.

  9. To make them crunchy change the oven to Broil for about 2 to 3 minutes.
